Since pioneering an interactive heritage trail three years ago, each annual Heritage Festival has seen Kingsland offer a free, guided walk around the village.

Led by David Hill of Auckland Walks, the walk reveals the historic importance of the Great North Road, its buildings and local personalities alike. Each Heritage icons displays a panel providing a photographic glimpse into the past, along with a brief description. A QR Code links to a specific mobile website with further information.
